Is this book trying to convert me?
No. The whole point of the Seven Laws is that you do not need to become Jewish to be in covenant with the God of Israel. The book explains what the Torah and the rabbis say God asks of every human being, and leaves the rest to you.
Are the sources real?
Yes. Every law is traced to its verse in Genesis, to the page of the Talmud where the sages derive it (Sanhedrin 56a–b), and to Maimonides' ruling in the Mishneh Torah (Laws of Kings 8–10). The Hebrew is printed in full, with vowels, in an appendix, so you or anyone you show it to can check.
Who translated it?
The English renderings are our own, prepared for this edition. Where the classical authorities disagree, the book says so rather than picking a side quietly.
Do I need to read Hebrew?
No. Every Hebrew passage has a plain English rendering under it. The Hebrew is there so the covenant can be read in the language it was given in, and so that over time the letters become familiar.
